If you are an adult worried about a child

Essex County Council has a duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. If you are concerned that a child may be being harmed please inform them. If you have immediate concerns about a child’s wellbeing, please don’t keep them to yourself.

When they hear that a child may be being abused or neglected, Essex County Council has a duty to investigate. Other professionals and people involved with the child will be contacted and if there are serious continuing concerns, they may become the subject of a child protection plan.

This plan is made with parents/carers and with colleagues from other agencies to offer support and protection to the child. The Council’s priority is to keep children with their families, except where it would be unsafe to do so.

CCF is a member of THE NATIONAL COUNSELLING NETWORK

The National Counselling Network (NCN) www.nationalcounsellingnetwork.org is an association of BACP or BPC Accredited counselling centres which hold a common aim to offer high quality and professional counselling to their local communities.  In addition to being psychodynamically oriented, members differentiate themselves from other counselling organisations by:

delivering professional, affordable/low cost counselling

being independent third sector providers

providing an alternative to the NHS and

ensuring that new clients are seen in a relatively short timeframe.

NCN members meet, communicate, network and share best practice, particularly in respect of psychodynamically led counselling.
